Student Experience Event: Detail at the Park
Driven to Care hosted a fantastic workshop at the DTC Memorial Park in Austin, TX discussing the car detailing business.

Students from McNeil High School and Texas State University were in attendance, and were able to get insight on the ins and outs of the mobile car detailing business.
Roberto, owner of Sponges, a successful mobile car wash and detail start-up company, led the workshop by presenting students with information on building a business model, sourcing materials efficiently, marketing, income & expenses, and detailing techniques his team uses.
Assisting Roberto with Operations is his sidekick and wife Marta who handles customer service and scheduling. Marta explained to students the importance of excellent customer communication to earn long term customers and gain referrals.
The workshop concluded with hands-on demonstrations, detailing a regular sedan as well as vintage/classic cars. The Sponges team provided a few pointers and informed students which products to use depending on car characteristics and services.
Whether you are heading into the automotive industry as a technician, engineer, or as a marketer for a dealership, having a skill as simple as learning how to detail a car properly can really set you apart.
Thank you Roberto, Marta, and Crew for being a part of Driven to Care’s Student Experience.
